Patient Exam Preparation
Fasting is required. No food or drink except water for 6–8 hours before the exam. Essential medications are OK with a small sip of water.

1. You will lie comfortably on your back.
2. Warm gel is applied to the abdomen.
3. A probe is placed over the right upper abdomen and multiple quick measurements are taken.
4. The gel is cleaned off, and you can resume your normal day immediately with no down time.
