Typically, when we issue an ultrasound report, physicians only require the written report to review findings and guide medical decisions. If your doctor ordered an ultrasound for your gallbladder, liver, spleen, or nearby organs, you should book an Abdominal Ultrasound.
This single exam covers all major abdominal organs — including the liver, gallbladder, pancreas, spleen, and kidneys — following the standard CMS (Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services) abdominal ultrasound protocol.
That means whenever you schedule an Abdominal Ultrasound with ScanX, you’ll automatically receive a complete, guideline-based evaluation of all these organs in one study. -
At ScanX, we currently do not perform musculoskeletal (MSK) ultrasound examinations, including evaluations of joints, tendons, ligaments, or sports-related injuries.
Please note that soft tissue ultrasound (e.g., for lumps, cysts, or localized swelling) is different from musculoskeletal ultrasound. These services are often confused; however, they serve different diagnostic purposes.
If your provider has ordered a musculoskeletal ultrasound, we recommend scheduling your exam with a facility that specializes in MSK imaging to ensure accurate evaluation and reporting.
If you are unsure about your order, please contact our team prior to your appointment, we’re happy to guide you.
AFFORDABLE. ACCURATE. EFFORTLESS.
